The Calaveras Gem and Mineral and Jewelry Show at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds Frogtown. Admission is $4 for adults; kids 12 and under are free, if accompanied by a paying adult. There will be numerous exhibits featuring jewelry, carving, faceted gemstones, and polished rocks. There will be demonstrators in disciplines such as fastening gemstones, wire wrapping, chair fabrication, and rock carving. Dealers will be selling jewelry making supplies and tools, beads, minerals, handcrafted jewelry, meteorites, fossils, ETC. Snack bar and food trucks on site. Come on out for a fun-filled weekend to the Vista Gem and Mineral Society’s Spring Gem and Mineral Market at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum. You will find everything from crystals and gems, rough slabs and cabs and even lapidary tools. The Artist’s Alley will be returning focusing on our Lapidary Artist’s and Jewelry Makers (Saturday only).
Not only can you find all the supplies you are looking for, but we are also known for our raffle held on Sunday afternoon. All prizes are donated by our vendors and VGMS. Come out and see what the new Grand Prize will be! All proceeds go to support our non-profit school and you do not need to be present to win.
There will be a food truck so you can even plan to join us for lunch. This is an outdoor show so we recommend wearing good walking shoes, sunscreen and hats. We hope to see you there!

The Cal Arts Museum is a beautiful place is a beautiful place with great lighting, clean bathrooms and generous galleries. There are many great restaurants in Old Town Escondido directly across the street. Also 5 banks with ATMs are a 1-2 block walk from the Cal Arts Center.
Our vendors were so delighted we are returning to the Museum the vendor space sold out in one day.
We try to vary our gem vendors assuring you a well-rounded shopping experience. You will enjoy beautiful mineral specimens, faceted precious and semi-precious stones, polished cabochons, faceting and lapidary rough, fossils, and eye-catching handmade and vintage jewelry. Our club experts will be demonstrating faceting, silversmithing, and cabbing. Our gem ID booth is often staffed with students from the Gemological institute of America.
Admission for adults is $5.00, children under 12 free. Enjoy a large free parking lot.
So, if you do not have time to go to Quartzsite or Tucson, come and visit Escondido and shop locally at the show that is rapidly becoming the premier gem and mineral show in Southern California.
